Dear SLS Family and Colleagues:
As you can imagine, we were quite surprised and honored to be recipients of a Festschrift/Tribute Book, edited by Michael S. Kavic and Carl J. Levinson.
Words can't express our gratitude to all of you who have contributed both to this publication, to the success of SLS, and to the unbelievable advancement of Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS). Minimally Invasive Surgery and Great Outcomes in patient care are the direct result of your careers, influence and wonderfully dedicated work.
We are humbled by the amazing contributions and dedication of individuals, such as you, but more so by the cumulative effect of your science, education, caring, support and skill.
We look forward to continuing our work at SLS, collaborating with other MIS societies and most importantly, collaborating with all of you.
We want to share some additional good news. Paul and SLS have qualified as Apple iBook Publishers/Developers. In keeping with our mission of providing information and education in MIS, SLS will be launching some incredible ePublication iBooks over the next several months. These include the SLS Classic Textbook, PM - Prevention and Management of Laparoendoscopic Surgical Complications. The first launch will provide the rich interactive text in a new format that can be carried on your iPad for quick reference. Another milestone is an iBook version of our JSLS journal(also available today), which has seen meteoric access since going Open-Access through PubMedCentral and Ingenta and now will also be a quick reference on your phone and tablet.
