Increased Transperitoneal Bacterial Translocation in Laparoscopic Surgery: Relative Effects of Type of Gas and Insufflation Pressure in an Animal Model of Peritonitis • Horattas MC, Ricchiuti D. Surg Endosc
(2003)17:1464-1467. Bacterial translocation with different gases at different pressures of pneumoperitoneum was measured. The authors found an increased risk of bacterial translocation in groups that underwent pneumoperitoneum compared with those that did not.
